Trapeze School New York makes high flying feats and acrobatic expression accessible to all, including children! Flying trapeze, trampoline, aerial arts, and juggling are a great way to get kids up and moving, and to foster their creative side. Our children's programs build foundations for developing a healthy, fun, and balanced relationship with exercise throughout one's life. We begin with basics such as warming up before exercise, practicing proper form, and training both strength and flexibility. Children will have the opportunity to challenge themselves mentally and physically, and we invite them to step outside their comfort zone in a supportive environment. Participants develop fundamental skills such as trust, teamwork, and confidence as they experiment with creating individual sequences and group routines. Children walk away from our classes feeling empowered and ready to tackle anything. You might even find your children ready for bed a couple hours early after a day at TSNY!
While children are always able to sign up for any all-levels classes offered at our school, we also have specialized children's programs for kids aged 6-14. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to join our Youth Program mailing list for announcements on when enrollment is open for each of the programs described below.
At Trapeze School New York, kids can spend a week learning to soar up high on the flying trapeze, bounce on the trampoline, and train in the aerial arts. Our camps are one week long, from Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm. Each day will include warm ups and conditioning. During the first part of the week, children get to try out all of the activities, such as: flying trapeze, static trapeze, silks, acrobatics, trampoline, and juggling. Then for the remainder of the week students will specialize in one or two skills and create acts to show to their friends and family in a Friday afternoon performance. All students will perform on the flying trapeze!
Students will create costumes and props for the show, make new friends, and learn new things every day. Just like any great camp experience, campers will get to build teamwork and leadership skills, foster their independence, and have lots of fun!
This program is held indoors at our South Williamsburg, Brooklyn location and is appropriate for children ages 6 to 14.
Please have your children wear comfortable athletic clothing and socks, and bring a water bottle and bag lunch.
