Spanish Web is an aerial apparatus consisting of a rope with a loop attached to it. Web is done with a flyer (who is in the air being spun) and a setter (who is doing the spinning from the ground). In this class you will learn to fly suspended from your wrist and foot. While spinning you will learn to transition from various shapes and poses, gain speed in the spin, and release into a fast spin. You will also learn to set the spin, which is an important part of the art.
Class Format and What You'll Do in Class
Classes are available as 1 hour group or 1 hour private lessons. Each group class is limited to 4 students. For private lessons, please call to arrange.
Each student is taught to their individual level and will work with the instructor to establish their own pace and goals for the class. Classes include a warm-up and conditioning to build strength, which will help to learn and perfect more difficult skills. Students of any level, from beginning to advanced, are eligible to take this class.
What to Wear
It is important to wear clothing that covers the backs of your knees and under your arms. You will want a shirt that can be tucked in to give your back protection. Long stretch pants or footless tights and a tight-fitting top are suggested. Tighter fitting clothing that gives you full range of motion is best. Shorts are not recommended, and loose clothing may get in the way.
