Objectives
To have fun
To build team spirit though fun and challenging activities
To have an exciting, memorable day
Your Event
Your event consists of an icebreaker, then 5 exciting and challenging activities. Teams of up to 30 will rotate through the challenge stations for an amazingly fun and adventurous day.
Challenge Activities
The challenge activities are designed to provide a variety of physical and mental challenges that vary both in nature and complexity. They are exciting, dynamic and imaginative. Task success will require applying problem solving techniques, maximizing resources including skills and strengths within the team and clear effective communication. The competition can be characterized by strict time limits, which require energy, commitment and a sense of urgency if they are adhered to. All the projects are engaging and highly enjoyable.
Icebreaker
We'll start by introducing the staff and challenges for the day.
Challenge #1: Flying Trapeze
Each team member will get ground instruction and then several chances to swing as well as attempt a knee hang and/or a flipping dismount. In between turns on the flying trapeze participants will face a hysterical challenge while learning to hula hoop and juggle.
Challenge #2: Hula Hoop
Hooping is strongly rooted in Pilates, Yoga, and
Gabriel Roth's five rhythms. Each session begins with
hoop-integrated stretching to open and lengthen your body
and promote flexibility. You'll then move into the basic
fundamentals of connecting with your body's core and keeping our
rhythm consistent. After you get a feel for that, you'll
progress into some higher-level exercise activity with the
Action Hoops, and really begin to move and free up your
body. Get ready to sweat. Each session will end with a
centering cool-down focusing on breath, balance and
loosening stretches with the hoop.
Challenge #3: Juggling
Balls, beanbags, scarves and clubs: are all used to teach
hand eye coordination. We'll teach you a basic cascade pattern
and more. Beanbags and scarves are easy, while the more
advanced and more coordinated participants will learn ball and
club juggling, plate spinning...well, anything's possible!
Challenge #4: Clowning
Clowning is an art form. Our favorite clown artist will teach
you to create your clown face (the signature of a
professional clown) and a few of the tried and true tricks
of the trade. Surprise the gang at home or the office
with your newly acquired skills!
Challenge #5: Sailing
Each team will learn and test their skills working as a crew while sailing the immaculate 80-foot schooner. This spectacular sail on the Hudson River will be very challenging and exciting.
Challenge #6: The Go Game
Utilizing the latest in wireless advances, and building on people's intrinsic need for fun and connectivity, The Go Game represents the future of immersive, reality-based gaming. It's a combination of Cranium, Mission:Impossible, and The Amazing Race. Using a web-enabled cell phone we provide, the game moves along with a constant give-and-take of digital information. Teams compete with one another to complete a sequence of challenges or "missions" in the most ingenious, daring, and creative fashion imaginable. Players download "missions" to their phone and complete them by submitting digital "proofs" -- digital photos and text answers.
Points and Awards
Points can be awarded throughout the challenges with awards to individuals and teams in categories such as:
Best team cooperation
Team most likely to continue facing adventure together
Team member most likely to take over the company
Most valued team member
Team most likely to turn the company into a circus
And more!!!
Trapeze School New York will orchestrate the day so that your teams will learn new skills, define their strengths and have an amazing shared experience.
A Note about Our Programs
All Trapeze School New York programs are designed to be challenging and enjoyable. There is no right way to succeed or have fun. Participants often come up with their own successful approaches to the challenges we provide. This is an important design feature as it allows for real creativity to achieve the objectives. Safety demands that all participants pay careful attention to the rules of the school and any instruction our staff may offer.
Our Staff
Trapeze School New York staff members are a fine blend of commercial experience, facilitation skills, and sensitivity to individual participants' concerns. Their role may be that of facilitator, observer, presenter, or guide, with their exact behavior dictated by how best to maximize fun and learning. With efficiency, respect, hard work, life-saving knowledge and cooperation, our staff exemplifies the best in successful team operations.
