all TSNY locations!!!
Here’s how it works:
These Official Rules are subject to change at any time and may be retroactively applied to the
date of first publication. Please read and review carefully… and often! By submitting an
entry, each entrant agrees to the Official Rules and warrants that his or her entry complies
with all requirements set out in the Official Rules. CONTEST IS VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. We’re
really not sure why the contest would be prohibited anywhere - but our lawyers insisted we
include the warning… just in case.
HOW TO ENTER
No experience needed, no purchase necessary! (Sorry, but NO employees of TSNY or family members
of TSNY employees are eligible.)
Create a 30 second to 5 minute video of any kind (criteria below) which shows why TSNY is so cool.
It can be funny, silly, scary, absurd, educational, touching or anything you think will capture
the imagination of the viewer and rank you number 1! We’re looking for unique, creative ideas
that represent the TSNY vibe.
Subscribe to our
YouTube channel
AND upload your video to our
contest site
by 11:59 PM (EST) on March 31, 2010
If you are not registered with YouTube, you will be required to create a user account –
it’s free – at www.youtube.com/signup.
Registration on YouTube must be completed before the video can be submitted to the group page.
TSNY and all of its subsidiaries/ organizers of this contest will not be held responsible in
any way should the entrant fail to post his or her video properly or have their video removed
from YouTube. Videos must comply with policies and community guidelines of YouTube.com.
This means no copyrighted music or other content that can be considered copyright infringement.
Profanity must be bleeped and depicted violence must not be overly graphic (face it… violence
and trapeze isn’t a great combo anyway).
Contestants may submit as many videos as humanly possible.
At this point, all VIEWERS who qualify by leaving comments and ratings on the videos,
will be entered into a drawing with the possibility of winning TSNY gear, or even a
FREE CLASS at any TSNY location!!!!
On April 14. 2010 at 11:59 PM (EST), the TOP 10 videos will be announced and put up on
the TSNY Video Contest Group “Trapeze School New York Video Contest- WIN UP TO $2,000!”:
VIEWERS: Stay with the action and vote by April 14th on the next elimination by joining
the TSNY Video Contest Facebook group “Trapeze School New York Video Contest- WIN UP TO
$2,000!” and be entered into a new drawing to WIN TSNY gear, or even a FREE TSNY CLASS.
On April 28, 2010 at 11:59 PM (EST), the TOP 5 videos will be announced and placed on all of
the TSNY websites!
Again VIEWERS: Send your opinion of our top 5 videos to Contest@trapezeschool.com
and be entered, yet AGAIN into a third and FINAL drawing to WIN TSNY gear, or a FREE TSNY CLASS!
This leads to the GRAND FINALE!!!!! On May 12, 2010 at 11:59 PM (EST), the WINNERS OF THE CASH
PRIZES (the TOP 3 videos), will be announced EVERYWHERE!!!!! And, will be contacted via the e-mail
provided through their YouTube account.
Entrants are more than welcome at any of our facilities, as long as it is pre-approved by the
local staff, all rules of the facility are followed, and it is during regular business hours.
Entrants are more than welcome to interview staff, students and strangers as long as media
releases are obtained for anyone whose image, voice or words are used or involved. (Releases
will be available at any of the TSNY offices during regular business hours)
JUDGING
Videos will be judged on a combination of YouTube, Facebook and TSNY website views, ratings &
comments, as well as by a panel of TSNY employees.
All entrants agree to be bound by the decisions of the panel. The judging process is within the
sole discretion of the panel. All decisions of the panel are final and not subject to petition,
review or dispute.
PRIZES/ Notification of Winners
Top entries will receive eternal glory in the form of featured video placement on all of the
TSNY official websites, as well as YouTube, Facebook, and wherever else we can think to put it!
The top 3 entries will additionally receive a cash prize of:
$2,000 for first place
$500 for second place
$250 for third place
The top 3 winners will be announced on all of our sites and networks on May 12, 2010.
These winners will also be e-mailed individually via their YouTube account information on
May 13, 2010. Prizes will be given out on May 14, 2010.
In compliance with IRS regulations, TSNY issues 1099’s for prizes of $600 or greater
(we will need your name, address and social security number if you win the first place prize).
RELEASE OF LIABILITY
By entering this contest, all entrants agree to release, discharge and hold harmless TSNY from
any claims, losses, and damages arising out of their participation in this contest including
physical or emotional damage. We know… it’s stressful, but stay cool.
Furthermore, TSNY assumes no responsibility for any error or delay in transmission to YouTube
or technical malfunction of any kind, including human errors, which results in any injury or
damage to entrants' or any other persons' computers related to or resulting from uploading or
downloading any materials related to in this contest.
TSNY also assumes no responsibility for any claims, losses or damages that arise from viewers
comments, opinions, ratings or computer issues.
In other words, we're not responsible for anything.
ORIGINAL CONTENT & OWNERSHIP
By entering the contest, entrant warrants that the video in its entirety, is a single work
of original material made by the contest entrant that does not infringe on the copyrights,
trademarks, moral rights, rights of privacy/publicity or intellectual property rights of
any person or entity, and that no other party has any right, title, claim or interest in
the video.
By entering this contest, the entrant agrees that he/she has obtained the consent of all
parties shown in the video. Entrant agrees to indemnify TSNY for any claims brought
against TSNY relating, in any way, to the Video/ YouTube Competition described herein.
Entrants may be asked to send a high resolution version of the video to TSNY at their own expense.
CONSENT TO LIMITED RELEASE
The entrant consents to allow TSNY to use their name, likeness and submitted video on our
official websites, YouTube, Facebook, iTunes, and any subsequent broadcast or transmission
of the submitted video regardless of medium or format.
By entering this contest, the entrant also agrees to give up all rights to the video. Meaning,
once TSNY accepts and approves the video, it becomes property of TSNY (with credit wherever
possible).
Giving comments, ratings, and opinions, or participating in the drawings, constitutes Your Consent.
You have to follow the rules to play our game.
RIGHT TO MODIFY, CANCEL OR SUSPEND CONTEST
If for any reason the contest(s) is not capable of running as planned, due to technical
failures or any other causes, whether or not such causes are beyond the control of TSNY,
we reserve the right to suspend the contest.
We also reserve the right to update these rules to account for errors, omissions, or changes
in guidelines or procedures.
